OK3 AIR Awards $30,000 in Charitable Foundation Grants to Non-profits Serving the Heber Valley
OK3 AIR has proudly operated its FBO business at the Heber Valley Airport for the past 22 years. OK3 AIR believes that it has a responsibility to positively impact the community in which it operates through annual charitable giving to local non-profits that improve people's lives, with a focus on non-profits that address public health, education, arts, environmental, and/or land conservation issues. To this end, OK3 AIR established a Charitable Foundation Grant program in 2022, for which it solicited applications from June through September.
OK3 AIR has now announced its first-ever Charitable Foundation Grant recipients for 2022:
- Christian Center of Park City / Heber Food Pantry / Snacks in Backpacks Project
- Kimball Art Center / ARTS Tours at Heber Valley elementary schools
- Utah Arts Collective / Nutcracker Tea Benefit for the Children's Justice Center
- Wasatch County School District Foundation (Wasatch Education Foundation) / We Rise First-Gen Scholars Program
These non-profits received an average grant of $7,500.
In announcing the grants, Maggie AbuHaidar, General Counsel to OK3 AIR and Director of the OK3 AIR Charitable Foundation Grants Program, said, "Collectively, these non-profits will impact thousands of children in Heber Valley this year, helping to bring everything from art lessons to food security, from financial and mentoring support for first-generation college students to comfort for abused children. We are so grateful for the services these non-profits provide and proud to partner with them."
The Christian Center of Park City/Heber Food Pantry received a grant to support its "Snacks in Backpacks" project, which helps alleviate food insecurity for students in the Wasatch County schools. As Matt Melville, CCPC Director of Programs, explained, "Our Snacks in Backpacks program in Wasatch County is growing and with this generous grant, we will be able to meet the need of the community, making sure kids have healthy easy-to-prepare meals to help them get through the weekend. We are thankful for OK3 AIR's commitment to their local community and for the ways they are helping feed children in need."
OK3 AIR is thrilled with the impact its grants will make this year. "My only regret," AbuHaidar said, "is that we did not receive more grant applications. Hopefully that will change next year when the word gets out, because OK3 would love to make an even greater positive impact going forward."
The application window for OK3 AIR's 2023 Charitable Foundation Grants will open on June 1, 2023.
